Black bears usually have two cubs, sometimes one or three but this mom had five. Tom Sears had a goal of photographing all six in one picture. He patiently waited for the opportunity of a lifetime spending four hours a day, seven days a week, for more than six weeks, before realizing his dream. What is more astonishing is that he repeated this feat a year later.
Unfortunately, Vel passed away and her other wonderful photographs are no longer available to link to. As a substitute, you might want to watch some of the U-tube videos listed below. They are really exceptional.
